10/17 Workshop day

Classes start at 8, so we had coffee and little cinnamon buns in the room.

Janet and I both signed up for the ribbon flower class.  We are still working on our flowers but may finish later.

Janet did the backstage tour of the nearby theater and bookbinding, while I did evening headdresses and turbans.  Then we met up again for country dance.  We returned to the room to flop on our beds and rest.

A friend of Janet's had recommended a nearby restaurant.  Since the Guardians baseball game had started, we thought it would be a good choice. Acqua di Vea.

Scallops and clams. We shared.

We both had the sole wrapped around spinach with a lobster sauce.
The restaurant comped us tiramisu and lenoncello.

We walked back and are now in our Jammies resting.

10/16 Jane Austen AGM (Annual General Meeting) begins

My cousin Janet and her daughter Stacy picked me up at the airport where I was very relieved that my luggage didn’t have any adventures.  We went directly to the hotel so we could register for the conference and check in to our room.  I used the direct checkin with the key on my phone.  It was great to get into our room, because there was a very long line at the reception.  (We went and got regular keys because we were a little chicken about the whole process.

Janet brought LOOOOTS of snacks, so we had some crackers, cheese, and wine and turned in for the night.  Calder had been wonderful and drove me to the airport at 5 am, so I was tired.
