I had a really busy day. First, was decorating a mask and bandeau. I did a blue with green accents for both AND FINISHED IN THE ALLOTTED TIME.
Then Liz and I met for a talk on the circulating libraries in Bath and other places where Jane might have obtained reading material. It was followed by a talk on the printing business in England and how they differed from the US.
We happily shared a turkey with avocado sandwich which came with sweet potato fries. They split everything with no extra charge.
After a rest time, I went to my next craft where I made beads out of strips cut from books. (In my case Pride and prejudice) AND AGAIN FINISHED MAKING THEM INTO EARRINGS. You can probably tell that finishing the craft activities has been a problem in the past.
Still filled from lunch we had snacks in the room before heading for the evening activity.
Syrie James gave a delightful presentation on the film adaptations of Northanger Abbey (2) and Persuasion (4). People cheered for the clips they liked and groaned when parts were silly or not well done. A really fun talk.
The evening ended with the awards for the Young Filmmakers contest. This year there were enough entries that they had two age groups- under 18 and 18 to 30. The judges were all very experienced filmmakers, but we all received ballots and the “People’s Choice Awards “ will be given at the banquet on Saturday.
Need to get to bed - tomorrow is a big day with no rest time.
