3/13 Another Saturday rolls around

In Italy, no one works at the Lab on Saturday - so I have Chuck and Brian to share my explorations. Chuck was dying to find the pizzeria that a guy from NY told him about. I was unwilling to try to find it in the dark, so we decided we would go for lunch. (1. We didn't know if it would be open for lunch. 2. We really didn't know if we could find it because it was a little off the beaten track.) If we couldn't find it, we could always go to the big mall, which everyone wanted to visit and where we could be sure there would be food.

Chuck had drawn a map from the Google site (you can see that he really wants to do this!) We went along and it turned out that a detour pushed us to where we wanted to go. The pizzeria opened at 12, so we were only 10 minutes early. It really was great pizza - better than the place that is closer. When we finished, I asked the hours and it turns out that they are open from 12 to 12 - so we could go earlier when there is still enough light to see the roads. Then since the detour was one way, we had to get directions back to the autostrada.

From the autostrada I knew how to get to the large mall. Chuck kept saying "Are we there yet?" He didn't believe that I had found it the first time. It is really far out of town. We all looked at the stores and then shopped at the supermarket. We found gifts for the kidlets for Easter and some tastes of Italy for the family and friends.

Both Brian and Chuck seemed to be tired after so exciting an experience, so we headed home. The heat would be coming on soon.
Now, we are back in the room. He is snoozing and I just took this opportunity to update. More tomorrow.

Hi Joan,

Love reading your daily journals...although it seems that you are not so fond of Italia as you are of other central Eurtope and Nordic countries. :-)

Love,

Susan
