9/27/ Grands Magazines & the 8th

We started the day with some excitement across the street. A giant crane was removing something from the roof. That is a seven story building. We were checking to see that it didn't hit the balcony.

We went up to the big department stores. Galeries Lafayette has a new food court. 2 floors of goodies. I was trying to catch the little girl in pink choosing her eclairs. The expression on her face was priceless.

Au Printemps has a lovely dome. Notice the people on the roof.

Marie and I split off from Bill to explore more of the 8th arrondissement. (Her book from the library "300 Curiosities in Paris" has good places to find.

First, we went to the Madelaine. Supposedly, the prettiest public bathrooms are located here. The bathrooms have been closed, but a wedding was going on.

There is a pagoda in this neighborhood:

King of the sea:

A Russian Orthodox Church:

For dinner we went to a crepe place. We shared a huge salad, each had our own savory (ancienne-lardons, potatoes, onions, and cheese):

And then we shared a banana split crepe. We should have shared the savory also, because it all was too much to eat.

On the way home we passed a door carving that looks like M&B's son Matt.

Waddled home to bed.
