Japan 6/15/15

Once again - a fabulous family trip. Jef, Calder, Branwen & I are on our way to Japan. We are staying with Jef' s Aunt Yong in Yokahama for a week. Alec is joining us next week. He could only take 2 weeks off so misses the first part.

Our flight was at 1:20am. It is hard to keep kids awake that long. Both C and B fell asleep in the waiting area.  When it was time to board we could barely wake them up. I was so impressed - one of the gate agents rushed over and escorted us to the front of the line!  

There were 2 other families from there school on the plane.  The Japanese from the immersion school like to take their kids to visit grandparents, etc, so many were leaving as soon as school was out. Most of them stay for 6 weeks instead of two.

We all slept fairly well on the plane, and had no trouble getting to Yong's very early Tuesday morning. We decided to try to stay up till after dinner. (This means we have to stay on our feet as much as possible, so we don't fall asleep.
