After an uneventful day of travel, Janet (my cousin), Stacy (her daughter), and I hit the ground running. Well really a slow saunter, but you get the idea.
After breakfast we went for a walk at a local park. Cleveland has lots and lots of parks. They are still green, the leaves haven’t started changing. This was a lovely paved path and it has a Senior Center that Janet uses, so she showed me around. It also had a rec center that had a magnificent pool area. A lap pool that was cooler, a toddler splash area, a lazy river, slides that went into a play pool and another large pool that were all kept at about 86 degrees. Stacy definitely wants to join and Janet is seriously considering it. The lazy river looked really tempting.
We did some shopping, went home for lunch and fed John (Stacy’s husband). Rested in the afternoon and then went to a cooking school for a demo and tasting. Tonight they were making 4 kinds of soup and 3 breads.
Austrian Cream of Potato Soup with Rye-Onion Bread
Victorian Pumpkin Bisque with Bacon, Thyme & Two Cheeses
Smoked Salmon Chowder with Dill & Boursin-Pumpernickel Croutons
New England Clam Chowder with Warm Garlic Bread Sticks
