Day 6 The pajama party continues

We have realized that we are fulfilling all of the requirements for a pajama party. We giggle a lot, call boys (our husbands) and share clothing. Or at least Marie shares – I have borrowed a sweater and she says I can have socks and Tee shirts if I need them. The only thing that we will never do is paint our nails.

I digress. We decided to go see the China Town here in Paris. It is a little south of Place d’Italie. There is a large grocery store there called Tang Frere and supposedly a mall with clothing. We found a Tang Frere store, but since it was #2, we figured that it wasn’t the one.

As we walked along the street we came upon a park. The sign said that “At the left of the entry, there is a round table that was given by finland to france for the exposition of 1937.

We went in to look at it. We walked the whole length of the park looking carefully for something important on the left.

We gave up and were retracing our steps when we found this little table hiding behind a hedge.

Back to looking for the store. We asked 3 people and each one pointed us along the street. (Except for the Chinese woman who said she didn’t speak French.) We found a shopping center – but with another supermarket. Finally an older woman said follow me and led us up another street and pointed the way.

A Chinese grocery store is even more exotic than a French one. There was a lot of stuff that we didn’t even know what it was when it was labeled. Marie bought a dragon fruit. It was a bright pink and very pretty.

We never really found any clothing, so decided to do one of the “50 walks in Paris” that was in that area. We stopped for lunch at a little bistro and had a nice salad with a poached egg and warm goat cheese on toast.

Our walk included a really sweet street of little houses that reminded me of parts of Australia.

Then we walked all the way home.

We were invited to a neighbor’s for dinner. Her husband is the Prefect of Police in Auxerre and she just comes to Paris during the week to take care of her grandchild. She also invited the elderly maiden lady across the hall.

We are now all on a first name basis. The elderly lady invited us to call her Giselle. The one in the middle is Isabel.

We had a chicken casserole with rice, salad with cheese and a rustic pear tart with lemon flavored ice cream.

Another fabulous time and then to bed!!
